for those of you who haven’t read The Authority, it’s kind of a minor Running Thing that after Midnighter gets all gross and covered in gunk and blood and stuff, that Apollo has to be the one to scrub him off because even though Midnighter probably wouldn’t care and wouldn’t bother until absolutely necessary, no one wants to make out with someone covered in dried blood and dirt and bad guy bits, midnighter, that’s not hot, no one’s into that 

…well not no one but he’s not, so 

(and see anyone else who’d look at Midnighter right now would think that’s his Resisting Urge To Kill face

and Apollo would be like “lol man I’ve seen his urge to kill face, and that ain’t it. that’s the face he makes when he’s trying really, really hard to keep being broody and not start to laugh”)
